"A nonstop race against the clock that will test your tolerance for action, thrills and suspense."
When a kid commits a crime in Pittsburgh, the trouble is just beginning. That's because the teen-age criminals end up doing time in the River County Reform Camp for Boys. Rehabilitation isn't what the manipulative colonel running the military-style boot camp has in mind for some. He sees his chance to control one of the most lethal and fearless forces there is -- teen criminals. But a young mind is a terrible-- and most unpredictable -- thing to corrupt.

Col. Henry Hogan has spent his life working in the juvenile justice system. After all this time, he knows he can do one thing well - manipulate kids. At the isolated camp that he controls, Hogan will test just how far he can push his boys and how much power he can grab. He recruits muscular Butch "Butcher" Brimmer to lead his Special Privileges Unit. Hogan dispatches this elite team on increasingly daring and dangerous assignments to settle personal scores and political vendettas all over Pittsburgh. As the "teen terrorist" attacks mount and the death toll rises, Hogan furnishes his boys with the perfect alibi -- residency at the reform camp. But one cadet may be onto Hogan's plans.

Joshua Champaign is physically weak but gifted on a computer. Can Josh lead a newspaper reporter to the evidence exposing Hogan as the misguided mastermind of the perplexing plague of teen violence in time? Or will the cunning colonel squelch the truth and silence the teens for good - all in the name of juvenile justice?

From the author of FATAL DEAD LINES, KILL THE STORY and SECRETS OF THE DEAD comes a wholly original thriller in which nothing is as it seems. It's a nonstop race against the clock that will test your tolerance for action, thrills and suspense. Because the task of reforming our youngest citizens has just become one man's excuse for violent retribution...

ZERO TOLERANCE is a term often applied to community efforts to stop the scourge of juvenile crime and rehabilitate the offenders. In our country's quest to meet out justice to its youngest citizens, some communities have turned to the trappings of military-style discipline and protocol. These juvenile reform centers are run as boot camps, designed to tear down the offender's psyche and rebuild it with the proper impulse controls befitting a polite society. But what if someone saw these young criminals as a lethal force that could be manipulated for his own ends? What if this person was in charge of a military-style boot camp designed to turn the kids' lives around? This person would have unlimited power, the perfect alibi and total control over his young charges. This person would have ZERO TOLERANCE for life, liberty, justice and the truth. This person must be stopped...Because a young mind is a terrible thing to corrupt.

Interesting read. The story was good enough to keep me reading and the characters fleshed out so that I cared what happened to them. I like John Luciew's stories and have read Secrets of the dead but not sure how determined I would be to purchase them if they were high in price. They are ok. Not horrible but not ones that I would want to go back and read again. Will buy more if they are low in price.

Zero Tolerance eBook John Luciew Reviews

The language in this book prevented me from any kind of pleasure in reading this story. I became very tired of the use of the "F" word which completely killed my curiosity about the book. Bad language is very distracting from the story line and is something I do not enjoy.
Though fairly interesting, this book isn't nearly as good as Kill the Story or Secrets of the Dead. It's disjointed and hard to follow. I won't be buying any more of John Lucieu's books because of the terrible spelling, grammar and the repeated use of the wrong word. Failure to correct these mistakes indicates a complete disregard for his readers/customers.
As a person who gets bored easily with books, at least this one kept my attention throughout. It was fairly original in concept, but a bit hokey in parts. The worst part was the number of typos throughout the entire book. To the point where there was multiple errors on every page. Sometimes you had to read sentences twice just to understand what the author was trying to say.
John Luciew is fabulous writer and I look forward to reading more of his work (already read Kill the Story, also great). If you like heightened action and suspense handled deftly by an expert, this is a book for you. But on top of that, Zero Tolerance has an original plot and beautifully drawn characters which add up to a very special reading experience. Great surprise at the end, too.
I was supposed to go to bed earlier due to work next day... well, I ended up reading this book all the way to the end... 130 in the morning - finished...I had to know the ending.. definetely buy this book!
This story of juveniles being led by a warden type at a boot camp. They go and commit many crimes following his orders and the ending is a little far fetched but satisfying. I enjoyed this book although it was a bit graphic at times. I loved the inclusion of one of my favorite old detective shows "Columbo".
John luciew knows how to keep me guessing and turning pages. He reminds me of John Grisham as he builds suspense. This is the first of his books I have read and I found it too gory for my taste is spots but the quality of the writing kept me reading. I'll be buying more of his works this week.
